We currently offer 4 different sizes of the ARI 458 electric transporter. You can start with the [ARI 458 box](/elektro-kleintransporter/ari-458/kofferaufbau) with an interior length of 132 centimetres and a width of 116 centimetres with a height of about 95 centimetres. A Euro pallet thus fits easily into our smallest electric transporter.

The ARI 458 electric transporter with the [L-size box](/elektro-kleintransporter/ari-458/kofferaufbau) has a loading space length of 149 centimetres and also a width of 125 centimetres with a height of 110 centimetres.

The ARI 458 electric transporter with [the XL box](/electric-small-transporter/ari-458/box-body) has a loading space length of 164 centimetres and a width of 130 centimetres. The height here is 130 centimetres.

Most of the bodies of the ARI Motors electric transporters are available in three sizes. In addition, there are also special vehicles such as the ARI 458 Alcove as well as body variants that have been individually agreed with the customer. How big is the loading area of the ARI electric transporter?

Yes, the ARI Motors electric vehicles have energy recovery while driving. However, a fundamental distinction must be made between the general recuperation of every electric motor and the recuperation brake in some electric vehicles. Because recuperation is often understood to mean the recuperation brake.

Additional electronic as well as mechanical components are necessary for the recuperation brake. Vehicles with recuperation brakes can basically only be driven with the accelerator pedal after a certain period of "getting used to". To brake, you take your foot off the accelerator early and can only accelerate and brake the vehicle with one pedal. The energy gain through recuperation is higher in urban areas than on overland trips and, depending on the vehicle model and experience with this technology, is a realistic 4-8 kilometers additional range per 100 kilometers.

With the ARI 458, ARI Motors has deliberately omitted these mechanical and electronic necessities for a recuperation brake in view of the cost-benefit calculation. In this way, the vehicle can be offered more cheaply without having any disadvantages in terms of range. This is why the ARI 458 only uses recuperation when the vehicle is rolling, if the movement in the motor generates energy that then flows back into the battery. However, here too the energy gain is so small that you shouldn't rely on this additional range when planning your trip.

In general, with electric vehicles as with combustion engines, the motto is that noticeably longer ranges are only possible through anticipatory and economical driving.


Do ARI Motors electric vehicles have recuperation?

The possible combinations of the vehicle bodies of ARI Motors electric vehicles are numerous. A good example of this has recently been on the road on the “sunny island” of Fehmarn: An [ARI 458 with a tipper loading area and a lattice box installed on it](/en/light-electric-vans/ari-458/tipper) is now in the service of the Fehmarn Tourist Service. The vehicle takes care of the promenade maintenance on the beaches of Germany's third largest island and travels around 100 kilometers per week at the Burgtiefe marina.

According to harbormaster Ralph Becker, only an electric vehicle was considered for the task from the start. The [ARI 458](/en/en/light-electric-vans) then prevailed against its competitors thanks to its price / performance ratio and vehicle size. The loading area is 1.55 meters long by 1.25 meters wide and is equipped with a lattice box, which makes the transport of new and old plant material much easier. And all the necessary work equipment can also be easily stowed away. The vehicle is also equipped with air conditioning for hot summer days and winter tires for the cold half of the year.

The  [ARI 458 Tipper L](/en/light-electric-vans/ari-458/tipper) is very popular with employees and guests on the island. According to Becker, the little ARI attracts attention. And thanks to its electric drive, the electric transporter does its job without noise and without emissions. A very good quality, especially in such a beautiful piece of earth as Fehmarn.

Charging your ARI electric vehicle is very easy and can be done in just a few steps. All you need is a **standard 230 V socket** and the charging cable supplied as standard equipment. However, charging at a **wall box or charging station** is also possible with an adapter cable. **Fast charging cables** are also available for most of our vehicles, which greatly shorten the charging process.

 

So you have three options to choose from:

1. Charging at standard sockets (230 V) with standard charging cable
2. Charging at type 2 sockets using an adapter cable (also: wall box, charging station)
3. Charging with a fast charging cable

 

**Option 1: charging at standard sockets (230 V) with charging cable (2.5 m long)**

 

Where: e.g. home, depot, business premises

 

How:
1. Open the loading flap on the side of the ARI with vehicle key
2. Unscrew the cap from the charging connector
3. Plug the charging cable supplied as standard into the charging connection
4. Plug the charging cable into the outside socket (230 V).
5. Charge

 

**Option 2: Charging at type 2 sockets, wall boxes or charging stations by using an adapter cable**

 

Where: At charging stations or wall boxes (e.g. at the university, at the place of work, supermarket)

 

How:
1. Open the loading flap on the side of the ARI with the key
2. Unscrew the cap from the charging connector
3. Connect the optionally available adapter cable
4. Plug the adapter cable into the Type 2 socket/wall box/charging station
5. Charge

 

**Option 3: Charging with fast charging cable**

 

If charging is to be particularly fast, the use of a fast charging cable is a good idea. This reduces the charging period by about half.

 

How:

2. Plug the fast charging cable into the charging connection
3. Plug the fast charging cable into the socket
4. Charge
