ARI Bruni Comfort in Use: Ms Waage from Gerichshain Drives an Affordable Electric Car in Pistachio

In Gerichshain, just a few kilometres east of Leipzig, a new ARI Bruni has recently hit the road. The Waage family has acquired a second car, which Ms Waage mainly uses in everyday life. They chose the two-seater ARI Bruni Comfort, and the colour was an easy decision too: its cheerful pistachio shade won them over.

As a second car, a vehicle has to do one thing above all: cover everyday journeys reliably without running up high costs. Whether it is a trip to the shops, appointments nearby or a drive to Leipzig, the compact Bruni is designed for exactly these routes. With its 17.3 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, it can travel up to 215 kilometres. That is enough to cover typical daily journeys for several days at a time without having to think about charging. Thanks to its compact dimensions, the Bruni can also find a parking space where larger vehicles have long since run out of room.

With the Comfort trim, the Bruni is not far behind a conventional small car when it comes to safety and comfort. Driver and passenger airbags provide protection, while power steering and air conditioning make every journey pleasant, whether in midsummer or in damp autumn weather. A driver-assistance system helps in traffic, fog lamps provide extra safety when visibility is poor, and a 3-in-1 emergency kit is also on board.

The electric second car really shows its strengths in day-to-day running. With combined consumption of just 9.9 kWh per 100 kilometres, the Bruni is among the most economical vehicles of its kind, with per-kilometre costs well below those of a comparable combustion-engine car. It charges easily from a standard household socket; a dedicated wallbox is not necessary. The charging port is easy to reach at the front of the vehicle, and the battery is fully charged again after around four to five hours. Ms Waage can simply plug the Bruni in overnight and start the next morning with a full battery. As an electric vehicle, the Bruni is also exempt from German vehicle tax, and the annual German GHG reduction quota (known as the THG quota) can earn owners a bonus.
