Malta subsidizes electric cars with up to €6,000 – ARI Motors Offers the Perfect Models
As part of Malta’s continued push for sustainable transportation, Transport Malta has announced a generous €34 million grant programme to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs). The scheme covers various types of electric vehicles, including pedelecs, motorcycles, quadricycles, cars, and vans. This is an excellent opportunity for businesses and individuals looking to switch to eco-friendly transport solutions.
ARI Motors: A perfect fit for the programme
The ARI Motors range of light electric vehicles (LEVs) is perfectly suited to benefit from this initiative. The grant programme supports light commercial electric vehicles, making the ARI 458 electric transporter, the ARI 145 and ARI 345 electric cargo mopeds, and small ARI electric cars highly attractive choices for businesses and delivery services in Malta.
-
ARI 458 Electric Transporter: A versatile and compact electric van ideal for urban logistics, deliveries, and service providers. With a fully electric drivetrain and various configurations, the ARI 458 is designed to reduce emissions while maintaining practicality and efficiency.
-
ARI 145 & ARI 345 Cargo Mopeds: These electric mopeds provide a cost-effective and efficient way for businesses to handle last-mile deliveries. With an electric range suitable for city use, these vehicles qualify for the €2,000 grant available for cargo pedelecs and mopeds.
-
Small ARI Electric Cars: These fully electric city cars offer an eco-friendly, space-saving, and cost-efficient transport solution. Perfect for urban commuting and small business operations, these vehicles can benefit from the grants available for quadricycles and light EVs.
Government Grants for Light Electric Vehicles
Under the new programme, the Maltese government is offering financial incentives to make electric vehicles more accessible:
-
A €500 grant for the purchase of new pedelecs.
-
A €2,000 grant for cargo pedelecs, mopeds, and motorcycles, covering up to 80% of the retail price.
-
Grants covering 25% of CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight value) for tricycles, quadricycles, and heavy quadricycles, ranging from a minimum of €2,000 to a maximum of €6,000 per vehicle.
Additional Scrappage Grants
To further incentivise the switch to electric mobility, the Maltese government is also offering scrappage grants:
-
Up to €500 for mopeds or motorcycles if they are at least 10 years old at the time of scrappage.
-
The scrapped vehicle must be registered with Transport Malta and disposed of at an authorized facility.
Act Now – Grants Available Until December 2025
Transport Malta has confirmed that the scheme is in place until December 31, 2025, or until the allocated budget is exhausted. This initiative represents a significant step towards reducing older, polluting vehicles on the road while making sustainable transportation more affordable.
With the ARI 458 electric transporter, ARI cargo mopeds, and small ARI electric cars, businesses and individuals in Malta can take full advantage of these incentives. Now is the perfect time to transition to an efficient, eco-friendly vehicle and benefit from government support.
